When I first moved to North Carolina, one of the first organizations I met with was the North Carolina Community Foundation. Where I am from, the Greater Milwaukee Community Foundation served a critical role in tackling some of the community’s biggest challenges. I wanted to see if the same was true here.

Modern politics do not appeal to me. I try to stay abreast of current issues. I vote. I care about the future of our country, but I don’t spend a lot of time following American politics. Over the past week, politics have been front and center in our collective dialogue as the Senate Health Care Bill was released and now stands for a vote. I have read articles, listened to stories on NPR, and seen a barrage of tweets on both sides of this equation.

First, a great big shout out to my team at Armstrong McGuire! They are talented professionals who each demonstrate professionalism, commitment to our shared work, and a keen sense of work/life balance. Smart. Willing to teach. Willing to learn. Willing to share. Good at scheduling and multi-tasking. Punctual. Prepped and prepared for the meeting. Desk cleared at the end of the day. To-do lists checked off. Projects completed with few or no errors, and on time.
