“The more I live, the more I learn. The more I learn, the more I realize, the less I know.” ― Michel LegrandSome things I learned early in life in the typical ways we were all taught through elementary, middle and high school: Reading, writing, arithmetic, science, foreign language, PE, and typing. That’s right, typing – and with a non-electric typewriter to boot!

We recently completed our 11th season of summer swim team. The final one for Devin as a swimmer, and his first year as a coach. As a family, we have always enjoyed swim team. Don’t get me wrong, I am not a fan of thousand-degree nights, where the adults are sweating while the kids are swimming, or 5-hour meets that stop and go with thunder delays, but overall, swim team has always been a good experience for us.

As non-profit professionals, we are reliant on so many to fulfill our mission. We are constantly working to engage clients, staff, and board members. We are always looking for meaningful partners to collaborate with, and of course, we are always seeking donors who are as passionate about our mission as we are.

I’m not going to lie. My boys are a bit spoiled. They are surrounded by family and friends who shower them with love, attention, and almost every toy that exists at Target. At this stage in their life, they don’t realize how lucky they are, but I am determined to make sure they are grateful.
