Members of our team recently completed a “talent” assessment that identified individual competencies, behaviors, and styles. Among other things, the resulting report confirmed that I am, by nature, a learner. I am in my element when absorbing information and trying to assimilate it to apply to my work, personal life, or sometimes (unfortunately for them) the lives of my friends and family.

Over the holidays a friend, my mom, and I started working on a 2,000-piece puzzle. The conversation was flowing, and all was right in the world. About 20 minutes in, I looked down and noticed that we were all navigating the puzzle in different ways.

Earlier this week our team of nine spent a day-and-a-half focused on strategic planning. We are at the midpoint of our three-year plan, so we evaluated our progress and set goals for 2020. Beyond affirming that our team is comprised of amazing humans, here are three key takeaways that may apply to your team, too:

Happy New Year! Happy leap year! Happy new decade! I hope you found just the right balance of celebration and reflection on the year that has passed, mixed with a strong dose of readiness and anticipation for what lies ahead in 2020.
Whether you’re ready to expand your organizational capacity and move forward with purpose, or just want to talk shop, we’d love to connect.
