A Season for Change

“To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven” - Ecclesiastes 3:1 and revisited in The Byrd’s 1965 hit song “Turn! Turn! Turn! 2023 is a new season for me. I quietly retired in December and now, I look to the future with excited anticipation for new adventures. The big question is what to do when you stop working and suddenly have time, space, and a blank calendar.

Stress and anxiety are running rampant during this time of quarantine. In normal times we experience stress, but the last few weeks have pushed us to a new level. The new stressors come from different sectors. It is no longer the traffic, the hustle and bustle of the workday, but now it comes from a place of fear that we might become infected with an invisible virus, and it can make you or your family really sick.

Become a Philanthropist

Saving the world is hard work. #GivingTuesday provides an opportunity to do your part through service and gifts of time, talent, or treasure to become a philanthropist. By definition, a philanthropist is “a person who seeks to promote the welfare of others, especially by the generous donation of money to good causes.” The definition of philanthropy is “the love of humankind”. As a giver, you are the real beneficiary since whatever you give comes back tenfold.
