Last week the Fundraising Effectiveness Project (FEP), a partnership of the Association for Fundraising Professionals, #Giving Tuesday, and some donor software companies, released its Q4 2020 and full-year 2020 fundraising report. Since 2005, FEP has analyzed over 176 million donation transactions from more than 20,000 participating nonprofits, so it is one of the most comprehensive and accurate takes on the current state of fundraising and year-to-year giving trends.

It was a good night! Friends we have not seen in over 18 months called and asked us over for dinner. We have been holding out, but now that all of us had our COVID-19 vaccines it was GO time! The food was fantastic, but the company and conversation were spectacular. That moment getting out of the car and walking to greet our friends felt a bit out of place, or at least it did for about 15 seconds. We were out of practice! Then my friend asked, “Can I hug you?”

After 13 months of mostly working from home, shopping online, and infrequent in-person social interactions, stepping back into the world feels a little bit like going back to middle school. It is awkward and kind of uncomfortable.

As I look out my window, I see daffodils in bloom and tulips starting to pop up – bulbs I planted in November. Spring is a time for new beginnings, spring cleaning, planning summer vacations, and perhaps seeking a career change. Many have had time to do some soul searching during COVID-19 and as we move forward with vaccinating the country there are many job opportunities in the nonprofit sector.
Whether you’re ready to expand your organizational capacity and move forward with purpose, or just want to talk shop, we’d love to connect.
